This recruitment is being announced for our job fair on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 9 : 00 a.m. to 3 : 30 p.m., at Leeward Community College, ED Building, 96-045 Ala 'Ike, Pearl City, HI 96782.
Applicants who receive a Notice of Eligibility will be invited to our August 24 job fair, where they can schedule interviews with participating departments , hear presentations from program staff, and ask questions about their roles and experiences.

Salary : $4,155 per month (SR-16, Step D)
This recruitment will be used to establish a list of qualified candidates to fill both Permanent and Temporary vacancies.
Note : Employees appointed to temporary positions may also gain membership in the civil service upon satisfactory completion of an initial probation period of at least six months.
Once you become a member of the civil service, you become eligible to apply for promotion and transfer opportunities to permanent as well as other temporary positions.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements :
LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK :
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Education : A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university which included a minimum of twelve (12) semester credit hours in courses such as counseling, criminal justice, human services, psychology, social work, social welfare, sociology, or other behavioral sciences.
In order to receive credit for education, you must submit verification (e.g., copies of official transcripts).
The education background must also demonstrate the ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other documents; read and interpret complex written material;
and solve complex problems logically and systematically.
Driver's License : Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) requirement for positions located in a correctional facility : As required by the Prison Rape Elimination Act of 2003 (PREA), Federal law states that an agency shall not hire or promote anyone who may have contact with inmates and who :
- Has engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility, or other institution.
- Has been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse.
- Has been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described above.
- Has been the subject of substantiated allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment or resigned during a pending investigation of alleged sexual abuse or sexual harassment.
