The Idaho State Department of Agriculture is currently recruiting for temporary Watercraft Station Inspectors located in the Kooskia, ID area.

Example of Duties
Successful candidates will conduct watercraft inspections and decontaminations at the Kooskia watercraft inspection station in Kooskia, Idaho.
This job is part of the agency's statewide invasive species prevention program and the inspectors will be responsible for examining and inspecting watercraft to prevent the spread of zebra / quagga mussels and other Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) from infested states.

- The position will use an established protocol to inspect watercraft and conduct decontaminations on high-risk conveyances;
- conducting quality control activities at watercraft inspection stations; setting up and taking down portable traffic signs on daily basis;
and properly entering detailed watercraft data on an electronic inspection form.
Minimum Qualifications
The successful applicant must be able to fulfill the following duties
- Good communication skills
- Ability to pay attention to detail when conducting watercraft inspections
- Work in various types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to bend and crawl underneath watercraft, when necessary and with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Possibility of working evenings, weekends, or long hours
- Valid driver's license
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Desired Qualifications
- Aquatic biology, ecology or field inspection experience
- Experience with pressure washers
- Familiarity with troubleshooting field equipment
