This Occupational Licenses Inspector position is a great opportunity for a professional who's looking to provide consumer protection and public safety for all Idahoans.
This position will conduct inspections of establishments and facilities licensed under the professional and occupational licensing acts administered by the Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses. This position will also prepare reports regarding deficiencies found during inspections. This incumbent will be inspecting barber, cosmetology, and crematory businesses in Eastern Idaho and will be working out of the Blackfoot Idaho office. Daily travel will be required.

Example of Duties:
- Inspections: Inspectors conduct inspections of licensed establishments, facilities, and vocational institutions for compliance with federal and state safety and sanitation requirements. This includes planning inspections and conducting on-site inspections related to individual and establishment/facility licenses; evaluating procedures and processes and inspecting equipment and facilities for safety and sanitation requirements; use check sheets to document violations; prepare basic reports regarding deficiencies found in non-passing inspections; explain licensing laws and rules verbally and in writing to licensees; recommend acceptable safety and sanitation methods to ensure compliance with governing laws and rules.
- Administrative duties: Incumbents maintain detailed inspection records and may make presentations on licensing laws and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Experience:
- conducting on-site inspections and preparing reports relating to inspections;
- interpreting, applying and explaining laws and regulations;
- using basic office related computer programs.
Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently hold or have held a license issued by the Barber and Cosmetology Services Licensing Board.
