This vacancy is located in the PLS/Fleet Operations Section in the Office of State Police located in East Baton Rouge Parish. This posting may be used to fill a probational appointment or promotional.
Additional Examples of Work:
- Prepares and presents annual reports regarding vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and personnel staffing issues statewide for senior decision-makers and Legislators.
- Creates, implements, guides, and manages new statewide projects related to Fleet Operations
- Serves as subject matter expert to DPS Office of Legal Affairs and Senior Command Staff for all matters dealing with Fleet Operations (Fleet Review Boards, Personal Assignment/Home Storage Issues, Vehicle Issuance and accountability, vehicle life cycle workflows)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive use of LaGov dealing with Procurement, Movable Property, CATS, SRM, and ECC
- Personnel management experience in dealing with multiple personnel of all different backgrounds and experience
- Experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating policies, procedures, and objectives for improvement and efficiency of operations across an entire section, region, or state.
- Experience and understanding of the state’s vehicle and equipment procurement process, from purchase through surplus
- General understanding of fleet maintenance and repair best practices and policies; more specific understanding/experience with the management of a large government fleet (local, state, or federal)
