The position of Associate Director of Development requires a minimum three years of experience in fundraising, event planning, promotions, giving campaigns; experience in customer relationship management, marketing management, and/or consumer behavior; must have strong relationship, interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skills; proven ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently as well as part of a team. Candidates must be willing to travel, work long hours, evenings, and weekends; be dedicated, determined, and devoted to the mission of Northwestern State University and the Office of University Advancement; and shall meet the required standards defined by Northwestern State University.The Associate Director of Development is responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors for all fundraising initiatives. Responsibilities include working closely with the Director of Development to determine and ensure institutional and organizational goals are met; managing and creating leads for current and potential donors to financially support the NSU Foundation through different giving levels of the Columns Fund; developing proposals and plans for minor and major gifts including unrestricted, restricted, and annual giving funds that support the mission of Northwestern State University; scheduling visits with prospective donors for the purposes of cultivation and solicitation; helping plan special fundraising events and informational programming; entering relevant donor information into online database and providing leads for major gifts and other opportunities for resource attainment; and carrying out other duties as assigned by the Director of Development.
