The Department of Marine Resources is seeking to fill a full time vacancy for an Office Associate I in the West Boothbay Harbor office. 

 

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: These vacancies at the Department of Marine Resources will assist in the Landings Program, which collects and maintains catch and landings data for use in fisheries management.  The job is a clerical and office support position, which involves accurate and rapid data entry.  The position will be responsible for opening and processing mail; coding and organizing work to maintain optimum data entry flow; preliminarily rejecting reports if data elements are missing; data entry; filing reports; and auditing and correcting entered data.  This job will also assist in electronic reporting when needed.  This position may also enter data for other projects and will cover switchboard duties as necessary. Work is based out of Boothbay Harbor.  

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Training, education, or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates 1) competency in applying a solid knowledge of modern office practices to perform complex office support tasks that are similar in nature, and 2) the ability to use independent judgment in handling exceptions to established work assignments, priorities, and schedules. All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of: Office Assistant I, and Office Assistant II.

  • Retirement Plan– The State of Maine contributes 13.00% of pay to the Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS), on behalf of the employee.  
  • Gym Membership Reimbursement– Improve overall health with regular exercise and receive up to $40 per month to offset this expense. 
  • Health and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts– Set aside money pre-tax to help pay for out-of-pocket health care expenses and/or daycare expenses.
