Job Summary
The Office of the Minnesota Attorney General is currently seeking an Inclusion Officer to support the mission of the Office by facilitating the implementation of structure and strategic direction for office-wide diversity, equity, accessibility, and inclusion (DEAI) efforts. This includes serving as the Affirmative Action Officer and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Coordinator. This role is being created to provide operational leadership, direction, and oversight to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to thrive. This is an exciting occasion to join an expanding team dedicated to the mission of the Office.
A successful candidate in this position will have the opportunity to support the mission by:
- Intentionally fostering an inclusive work environment where diversity is celebrated;
- Developing, implementing, and managing the office’s Affirmative Action Plan;
- Overseeing the administration of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title I and Title II, and providing guidance, training, and direction to all staff on the ADA;
- Overseeing the development, implementation, and management of a diversity recruitment program;
- Supporting the office’s Employee Resource Groups; and
- Identifing barriers and recommending changes in policies, procedures, programs, and physical accommodations to implement equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
This position is eligible for a hybrid work environment.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Public Policy (or closely related degree) AND at least 2 years’ experience with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion OR at least 4 years’ experience with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Knowledge of and commitment to effective and respectful strategies to create and foster a diverse, equitable, accessible, and inclusive working environment
- Outstanding skill in:
- Interpersonal relationships and human relations to develop supportive and trusting relationships with staff at all levels
- Communications, presentation, and training
- Organization, planning, and prioritizing within program and project management
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Analyze a workforce, identify barriers, and recommend change
- Successfully lead organizational change
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the state’s personnel laws, rules, policies, and procedures and collective bargaining agreements and compensation plans
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move and transport such articles as files, laptop computer and resource materials weighing up to 20 pounds
