Position Description
Grounds Maintenance Workers perform landscape, garden and greenhouse duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing, weeding and snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts and hoists. Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
On Army National Guard facilities, the incumbent will perform landscape duties such as planting, pruning, mowing, trimming, watering, fertilizing and weeding; snow and ice prevention and removal; and operate hand and power tools, power mowers, tractor mowers, trenching devices, forklifts, hoists, and scissor/boom lifts. The duties of this position include driving as an essential function so the incumbent will need to have a valid Nevada Driver's license if hired. The incumbent will also be required to read, write and speak English to ensure the ability to read labels and Safety Data Sheet (SDS); and maintain a pesticide usage log by entering in identifying numbers.
Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.

Minimum Qualifications
Six months of experience performing basic grounds maintenance work; OR six months of experience as a Grounds Maintenance Worker I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
