The Position
Health Program Managers provide administrative direction for programs related to maternal, child and family health, nutrition, disease control, or other health programs.
The Health Program Manager 2 supervises both supervisory and professional staff engaged in provision of health-related services and are responsible for long range, broad-based planning and policy development for a statewide program. The Aging and Disability Services Division is currently recruiting for a full-time Health Program Manager 2 in Las Vegas, NV. This recruitment may be used to fill current and future vacancies as they occur in the following program: Desert Regional Center (DRC). This position works in coordination with the Health Program Manager 3 to direct and coordinate services with the agency departments to support professional standards of care. This position ensures the implementation and sustainment of the self-determination and person-centered planning approach. Incumbents are responsible for supervising Developmental Specialist 4's and support staff. Ensures applicable state, federal, agency policy requirements are being adhered to by staff and contracted providers.
Incumbents ensures staff implements support plans as established during the person-centered planning process; oversees the training needs of staff. Serves as a liaison and Division representative for community projects to support consumers at local, regional, and statewide levels to identify health needs, issues, and gaps. Works with other DS managers to ensure consistency in programs and services; establish working relationships with providers and other entities to expand and coordinate services for people with intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, developmental delays, and dual diagnoses; provides court testimony as needed; represent state services to professional associations and counterparts in other states; may present legislative testimony regarding assigned programs. To Qualify:
In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:
Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in public health, human services, social science, behavioral science or related field and four years of increasingly responsible professional experience in a health-related field, two years of which included providing or coordinating the delivery of health care services, budget preparation and control, and the interpretation and implementation of complex regulations. Of the two years of experience, one year must have included supervision of professional staff; OR one year of experience as a Health Program Manager I in Nevada State service; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
