Under the supervision of a Senior Psychologist this position coordinates a range of assessment and treatment services to about 25 residents in a home with significant intellectual disorders and related developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, and including some with significant behavior disorders and psychiatric diagnoses. Services include providing functional behavior assessments; planning, developing and evaluating training and treatment programs, some of which may contain protective and/or restrictive procedures that require due process approval with the human rights committee. This position will also provide staff training and participate in interdisciplinary team processes that may include leading discussions using data to guide teams in decisions regarding behavior support planning, training, and treatment.
***Per G.S. 126-5(c1) (37), this position is Exempt from all provisions of NC General Statute Chapter 126 (State Human Resources Act) with the exception of Articles 6 and 7.***

Management preferences:
- Licensure in psychology.
- Master's degree in psychology or related human service field with coursework in behavior analysis and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Certification in behavior analysis preferred. (Preference would be given to applicants eligible for or nationally certified in behavior analysis by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board.)
- Knowledge and skills in assessment of intellectual disorders and related developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, in terms of behavioral assessment and observations.
- Knowledge and skills in behavior analysis through functional behavior assessment and analog functional analysis in assessment and treatment of persons with significant learning and behavior disorders.
- Knowledge and skills in the evaluation of training, treatment, and behavior support programs, including the use of graphic analysis.
- Knowledge and skills to train staff to conduct training, treatment, and behavior support programs.
- Knowledge of general ethical, clinical, administrative and social policy issues in intellectual disorders and related developmental disabilities, such as autism spectrum disorder, and ability to relate these issues to concepts and practices at the Center.
Eligibility for licensure in North Carolina under the provisions of the NC Psychology Practice Act (G.S. 90270).
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.

**Eligibility for Sign-on Bonus
Qualified applicants must be selected from the candidate pool of this posting and meet the State policy following requirements:
A newly hired permanent full time or permanent part-time employee who works 30 to 40 hours per week is eligible for a sign-on bonus (this will be prorated for employees working less than 40 hours per week).
An employee is not eligible for a sign-on bonus if:
(1) the employee has held a position in North Carolina State government, including the judicial system, or the University of North Carolina system within the last 12 months (the employee shall remain ineligible for 12 months from the separation date);
(2) the employee has previously received a sign-on bonus from any State agency;
(3) or DHHS has paid any contract placement or recruitment fees.
