Regional Agribusiness Developer

The Regional Agribusiness Developer position provides support to North Carolina agriculture companies, particularly those producers, processors, and value-added food companies. This position will promote the development of the agricultural industry and agribusiness throughout North Carolina and aide in improving the economic well-being of the agricultural and rural community.  Position will establish and develop business relationships and assist with the expansions of existing agribusiness companies, ag start-ups, and entrepreneurs to aid their growth/stability in the local/regional economy. The incumbent will ensure the assigned region is familiar with the services and assistance that can be provided by the GTBNC program, International Marketing, Horticulture, Commodity Grading, and all services of the 19 Divisions of the NC Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services.  

This position serves the following counties and candidate must reside in one of the following counties:   Mecklenburg, Union, Anson, Richmond, Montgomery, Stanly, Cabarrus, Rowan, Iredell, Yadkin, Surry, Stokes, Forsyth, Davidson, Davie, Rockingham, Caswell, Alamance, Chatham, Guilford, and Randolph.

Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, crop science, animal science, horticulture, home economics or related area of assignment from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in the related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Any employment offer may be less than the maximum of the range due to salary equity with similarly situated employees or the selected candidate's related education and experience.
