Cherry Hospital is a state psychiatric institution which provides quality in-patient psychiatric services to the citizens of eastern North Carolina. The Work Program operates within the Rehabilitation Services Department and offers opportunities for patients to actively participate in a structured work experience within a group setting.
People with persistent mental illness often exhibit substantial functional deficits and a breakdown in the organization of routines and habits. Through meaningful activities in a structured environment, the work program offers opportunities to develop basic task skills and work habits such as dependability, punctuality, engagement, concentration, problem solving and responsibility. In addition, patients are able to develop social skills needed in a daily work setting.
The NC Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is one of the largest, most complex agencies in the state, with approximately 18,000 employees. DHHS manages the delivery of health- and human-related services for all North Carolinians, especially our most vulnerable citizens – children, elderly, disabled and low-income families.
Cherry Hospital (CH) is a State-of-the-Art psychiatric hospital located in a beautiful rural area of Goldsboro, NC.
