In this position you will be responsible for the following:
- Processing accounts payable transactions in the South Carolina Enterprise Information System (SCEIS) and in the Vocational Rehabilitation’s Case Management System (CMS), reviewing details to ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures.
- Using Microsoft excel to record items that are tracked for Accounting and Finance, including but not limited to Check Pulls, Check Voids and Replacement Check Requests.
- Pulling check registers daily from SCEIS and monitor for actions items.
- Acting as a liaison with the Comptroller General's Office, State Treasurer’s Office.
- Processing employee and board member travel claims as necessary.
- Assisting in answering the main Accounts Payable phone and handling caller requests.
- Serve as back up for other Accounts Payable Accounting Technician III positions as needed and additional duties as assigned.
- Associate degree in Accounting or with 12 semester hours in accounting courses and two years of accounts payable experience;
- or a High School diploma and four years of accounts payable experience.
- Knowledge of general bookkeeping and accounts payable principles and best practices.
- Good mathematical and computational skills.
- Ability to perform accounts payable or accounting-related functions with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously; communicate effectively verbally and in writing; and establish and maintain effective working relationships.
