Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse II/Site Lead, the Registered Nurse II provides culturally competent nursing care for individuals, families, and the community. Provides nursing care for Preventive Health clients per agency policies/procedures, standing medical orders, and patient specific medical orders. Promotes quality customer service and maintains strict confidentiality. Position will require some lifting up to thirty (30) pounds and periodic standing.-Utilize the nursing process to assess the health of clients including: obtaining an appropriate history and risk assessment per program policy, performing physical exams on males and females per program policy, obtaining appropriate stat lab, including pregnancy test and referred lab per program policy, maintains confidentiality and documents care/services per agency policies/procedures. Provide risk-based education to include STDs/STIs, Reproductive health planning, Methods of birth control benefits. Refer as indicated for abnormal findings, mental health, tobacco cessation, substance abuse, etc. and maintains confidentiality and documents care/services per agency policies/procedures.
-Provide follow-up per program guidelines to include: teen follow-up, abnormal Pap Smear follow-up, positive laboratory test follow-up, referral follow-up, maintains confidentiality and documents care/services per agency policies/procedures.
-Participate in Emergency Preparedness and Response.
-Maintain professional accountability as a licensed nurse and use available data and information collected from community partners to respond to community health priorities.
State Minimum Requirements: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing. Some positions require a valid driver's license. Also, some positions require certification in Basic Life Support and/or Basic/Advanced Cardiac Life Support. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

A Bachelor of Science in Nursing and current licensure as a Registered Nurse by the State Board of Nursing for South Carolina or a compact state.
One (1) year of Nursing experience is preferred, but is not required.
