Job Description
Are you organized and detail-oriented? Do you enjoy assisting co-workers and customers in an office environment? Do you have experience inspecting janitorial work and entering work orders? This Support Specialist position might be for you!
Principal Duties
The Support Specialist will:
- Provide customer service to the public and to state agencies by phone and in person.
- Greet incoming visitors and direct to the right individual.
- Answer multiple line phone and transfer calls to the right individual.
- Sort and process daily mail.
- Schedule conference room.
- Maintain and organize filing of work order paperwork in electronic databases.
- Inspect janitorial services to ensure contract compliance.
- Enter work orders for maintenance staff.
- Assist management to dispatch maintenance staff.
- Take meeting minutes.
- Check invoices for accuracy, and submit for payment.
- Order supplies for office, janitorial, and maintenance use.
- Perform other general office work as assigned.
The best qualified candidates will have:
- At least 1 year of experience providing office and clerical support in a professional office setting.
- Some experience with janitorial inspections and creating work orders.

- Physical Requirements:
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.

Working Conditions:
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- Driver's license is required for same-day travel to regional buildings for janitorial inspections.
- DHRM rules apply to promotions/transfers.
