The Finance Services Division (FSD), is dedicated to being a collaborative partner and to providing the highest level of support and professionalism possible; thus ensuring all Employment Security Department (ESD) divisions are well equipped to respond efficiently and proactively to our customer’s needs.
Our Financial Services Division has a great opportunity for a Fiscal Analyst (FA3) to join he Vendor Payments Unit!
This position performs specialized accounts payable duties, ensuring all invoices have been paid so ESD can continue to provide our community with inclusive workforce solutions that promote economic resilience and prosperity.
Duties
While performing complex financial analysis, your primary responsibility will be providing accurate and timely financial information in addition to paying financial documents submitted for payment. Leaning on your accounts payable experience, you will have the opportunity to determine methods for improving financial services and coordinate procedures with staff. You will be relied upon to verify compliance of financial policies issued by ESD, The Office of Financial Management, and all other funding sources.

Some of what you will do:

Perform assigned unit financial and accounting operations and activities.

Respond to questions regarding compliance with financial or administrative requirements.

Perform accounting activities accurately in an accounts payable or receivable system; upload daily financial data into AFRS.

Review financial actions for accuracy; analyze and prepare financial transactions corrections.

Reconcile and validate transactions such as credit cards, utilities, telecommunications, and leases. Provide interpretation of funding agency and departmental regulations and policies.

Qualifications
Required qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree, which includes 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting
AND
Two (2) years of relevant professional experience.
OR A combination of education and/or relevant experience, equal to six (6) years.
- Experience cannot substitute for the 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
Education to Experience Equivalences:
Associate Degree = 2 years | Bachelor Degree = 4 years | Masters or Higher = 5 years
Additional Requirements of Employment:-
Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
