We are a smaller agency and you are going to gain experience here that you won't in other places.  You will help make a difference not only in our agency, but also in the communities throughout our state.  We invite you to apply for the position of Regulatory Analyst 2 where you will take a leadership role in the agency's heating oil-related programs.

Some of what you'll do:
  •  Coordinate with senior staff to operate and continuously improve the statewide Heating Oil Insurance Program.
  • Develop and coordinate program outreach efforts to customers and other stakeholders.
  • Provide specialized technical advice and assistance for environmental cleanups.
  • Evaluate and review claims filed under the program.
  • Continuously review and improve program workflows and processes.
  • Serve as the agency lead in contract development and enforcement.

REQUIRED:
  • A Bachelor's degree involving major study in economics, accounting, business or public administration, finance, social sciences, engineering, law or related field.
  • Three years of professional experience.
  • An advanced degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.
The preferred candidate must also have:
  • Positive and professional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team setting.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking strategies to evaluate and solve problems.
  • Experience in serving, communicating and interacting with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to deal well with competing priorities and difficult clients.
  • Ability to interpret and apply applicable rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Knowledge of state cleanup requirements.

PREFERRED:
  • Knowledge of: principles, practices and methods of environmental or resource management and environmental pollution prevention and pollution control; methods and techniques of field sampling, testing, data gathering, basic research and field investigations; applicable state, federal and local environmental regulations and policies; technical report writing methods; characteristics and health effects of pollutants.
  • Knowledge of: developing and managing contracts, especially state-administered contracts.
  • Experience working in or with an insurance program.
