This position has been allocated as an IT Quality Assurance – Senior Specialist 

What this job is about:
As the IT quality assurance (QA) supervisor, you develop and oversee the organization’s new QA testing team. The team QA tests and supports custom and SaaS or PaaS development applications that have multiple dependency and function points, span different platforms and are deployed in the cloud or a distributed environment.  In addition, provides SDET automation testing. These applications have high visibility as they support a fundamental business of Office of Financial Management (OFM) and the executive branch, and they impact the availability and correctness of the state's budget, legislative, financial, HR, and executive applications.
 
Our division supports the state’s enterprise applications which are used by state agencies, higher education institutions, OFM and the Office of the Governor.

 What you’ll be doing:
  • Supervise, lead, coach and mentor quality assurance Testers and SDETS that support and test for a collection of applications. Document staffing needs to achieve objectives, set expectations, and evaluate performance, and conduct performance appraisal.  
  • Adjust assignments and schedules to maintain adequate staffing levels and respond to fluctuating workloads.
  • Determine the scope of testing, organize efforts into units of work then assign or delegate to SDETS, QA testers or analysts.
  • Review test plans for correctness and adherence to standards. 
  • Test emergent issues of an unknown nature that may exist in the application or underlying server or network environment. 
  • Independently engineer and architect test automation solutions for previously unidentified business problems in a greenfield environment.
  • Code and maintain automated tests to validate integration, performance, security, functionality, interface features; write tests to validate each unit of software for correctness.
  • Develop and code test plans, test cases, test data, and test scripts to ensure that system functions meet acceptance criteria.
  • Document characteristics of issues found during testing; evaluate complex issues to resolve in a timely and effective manner.
  • Analyze and document performance and security problems.
  • Work with stakeholders and developers to understand business goals and objectives, and to ensure that requirements and scope are thoroughly tested before deployment.

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher related to computer programming or computer science.*
  • Seven years of current professional experience in QA methodology and tools.
  • Experience working with source control (e.g. Git, Team Foundation Server, Azure DevOps).
  • One years’ experience as a lead or supervisor.
 *Current Information Technology experience may substitute for education on a year for year basis. 
 
Desired Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of testing applications using modern technologies such as:
    • Angular
    • NGRX
    • RXJS
    • SCSS
    • Dotnet core
    • Web API
    • Node
  • Senior level experience in enterprise systems and current testing technologies and methods
  • Experience in developing Automation frameworks design and development, test automation, deployment automation, integration, and build automation. 
  • Current professional experience developing scripts, designing test scenarios, test execution, unit, integration, performance and security test monitoring, and analyzing and reporting results. 
 
 
Condition of Employment:
  • On Aug. 9, 2021, Gov.
