The Opportunity: This Social and Health Program Consultant 4 (SHPC4) position monitors implementation and practice related to program policies and procedures in Region 5, Field Operations. This includes consultation and analyzing data, providing reports a,nd written feedback to caseworkers and leadership. This position requires extensive knowledge of federal and state child welfare laws and regulations, department and statewide policies, agency values and mission reform plan mandates, and procedures to maintain program consistency, best practice initiatives, and strength-based family practices.Some of what you'll do: Monitor, teach, and mentor new and experienced Social Service Specialists to improve quality service delivery and safety outcomes for children and families. Provide FAMLINK training and ongoing support to Social Services Specialists.Lead and participate in the Quality Case Review.Provide data reports to field operation staff and ensure regional data is accurate and addresses inaccuracies.Conduct observations of Social Service Specialists to ensure consistency of standard of practice expectations, and state and federal requirements.Review region, local office, and unit Child Protective Services (CPS) and Child Administration program goals are met. Identify needs and meet set targets for improvement in practice and child safety. Review cases, analyze compliance, and implement formal and informal training and action plans to address deficiencies. Represent DCYF in work groups, meetings, and committees designed to shape agency policy and practice regionally and statewide. Required Qualifications: One year of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 3 or equivalent.ORTwo years of experience as a Social and Health Program Consultant 2 or equivalent.ORA Bachelor's degree in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field and five years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs.ORA Master's degree or higher in social work, a health or social science, public administration, or a related field and four years of professional experience in planning, administering, developing, or delivering social, financial, health, or chemical dependency treatment services programs. In addition to those required qualifications, our ideal applicant will also have some or all of the following: Previous work experience in case management and child welfare programs. Work experience researching, comprehending, interpreting, and applying current applicable laws, rules, and policies of child protective and child welfare services within Washington State.
