The Department of Safety and Professional Services (DSPS) mission is to promote economic growth and stability while protecting the citizens of Wisconsin as designated by statute. DSPS and related professional boards protect the citizens of Wisconsin by ensuring the safe and competent practice of licensed professionals; performing inspections of commercial buildings, amusement rides, boilers, elevators, pressurized gas systems, and electrical systems; and performing plan reviews of commercial building, plumbing, fire suppression, elevators, boilers, and private onsite wastewater treatments systems.

Position Summary
This position Consumer Complaint Program Associate is responsible for the initial analysis and processing of informal complaints received by the Division of Legal Services and Compliance against health, business, and trade professionals. This position performs administrative tasks with substantial independence in decision making and task scheduling and communicates with internal and external customers and stakeholders each day. Under demanding time constraints, this position is also required to produce accurate documents and maintain precise records for the complaint tracking system.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (02-11) with an hourly rate of $17.05, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. For positions that do allow remote work flexibility, although residency in the State of WI is not required for permanent positions, it is not anticipated that working outside of WI or bordering cities will be allowed as positions may at times need to report to office locations in WI on short notice.

Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experince with the following:
- Experience using databases to perform tasks such as entering and retrieving data.
- Experience or training utilizing computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, or comparable.
- Experience assisting internal and external customers or stakeholders with inquiries/questions utilizing the phone, email, letters or comparable.
In addition to having all of the above, well qualified applicants will have one or more of the following:
- Experience or training utilizing and maintaining online databases or uploading shared document to shared sites, such as SharePoint or a comparable program.
- Experience analyzing, reviewing or processing consumer complaints.
- Experience utilizing Adobe Acrobat Pro (to perform tasks such as combining documents, bookmarking, text recognition, password-protection, etc.) or a comparable program.
