Position Summary
This position serves as an Office Associate supporting the Wisconsin Mississippi River Parkway Commission’s (WIMRPC’s) Chairperson (hereafter referred to as “Chairperson”) and other officers. In this role, the incumbent will provide administrative support to the Chairperson, other officers, and the entire Commission and its subcommittees. The incumbent is expected to have a thorough knowledge of the WIMRPC’s mission and goals, related State Statutes and Administrative Code, and the overall operation and responsibilities of the WIMRPC and the department’s Scenic Byways program. While working day-to-day for the WIMRPC, this position reports to WisDOT’s Economic Development Section Chief.
Activities are not limited to and include:
- Screening, evaluating, and prioritizing written communications, email, and reports addressed to the Chairperson and other WIMRPC officers for their review
- Composing and editing correspondence prepared for the Chairperson’s signature
- Scheduling meetings, making travel arrangements, and filing travel reimbursement requests for the Chairperson, other WIMRPC officers, and Commissioners
- Preparing agendas and materials for the WIMRPC and its subcommittees
- Attending and taking notes/meeting minutes at WIMRPC meetings and those of its subcommittees
- Managing records and ensuring compliance with Wisconsin’s records information management (RIM) laws, rules, and requirements
- Supporting the development of promotional materials for the Wisconsin Great River Road
- Supporting other Economic Development Section activities, including stakeholder outreach and events occurring away from the Headquarters City
This position will work approximately 26.8 hours per week.
Salary Information
This position is in schedule-range (02-09) with an hourly rate of $18.17, plus excellent benefits. A twelve month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

Qualifications
Qualified applicants will have experience with all the following:
- Utilizing computer programs (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.)
- Performing day-to-day administrative functions necessary to business operations such as drafting correspondence, managing schedules, and providing inventory services
- Assisting customers or stakeholders with inquiries
In addition to having all the above, well qualified applicants will have experience with the following:
- Composing and editing documents (meeting agendas, meeting minutes, memos, reports, document templates, business letters or newsletters or comparable)
- Planning travel, meetings, or events for managers
