The Division of Adult Institutions is seeking to fill two (2) Corrections Security Director positions: one at Taycheedah Correctional Institution in Fond du Lac, WI and one at Racine Correctional Institution in Sturtevant, WI.
Position Summary
These positions plan, implement, and coordinate the security program at the correctional institution. These positions develop and direct the overall security program and are responsible for all activities within the Restrictive Housing unit, with development, implementation, and monitoring of overall institution goals, policies, and procedures as part of the institution management team. This position is responsible for the security program for all areas of the institution. This position consults and makes recommendations to architects for new construction regarding security issues. This position assumes institution administrative and management responsibility as directed by the Warden/Deputy Warden.
Salary Information
This position is in pay schedule/range 81-02 with an annual salary of $83,200 - $105,726. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A two year career executive trial period is required.

Job Details
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
As public safety employees, remote work is not an option for these positions.
Qualifications
Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: Developing, implementing, and monitoring policies and procedures for a 24/7 operation Supervising staff (e.g. hiring, training, assigning and directing work, performance evaluations, etc.) Working collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in a correctional setting Directing, implementing, and evaluating security standards
In addition to the above, well qualified applicant will have experience: Investigating staff and/or inmate misconduct allegations
