JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE: CLERK (DELI)

JOB SUMMARY:

To prepare food for customer consumption; to package product and wait on customers.

FUNDAMENTAL JOB TASKS:

• Prepare food items for display
• Package, label and price products
• Place point of sale signs, tags, stickers as needed
• Stock and display merchandise for sale to customers
• Assist customers with their orders
• Operate department equipment in safe efficient manner
• Maintain merchandise in cases, shelves for orderly display and rotation
• Clean department fixtures and equipment
• Maintain stock in storage area
• Order replacement merchandise and supplies as needed
• Maintain logs and records of damaged and lost merchandise
• Follow all safety rules and regulations
• Other related duties as required
• This position requires bending, twisting, stooping and lifting up to 50-lbs., as well as the ability to work continually on your feet.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Ability to read recipes, invoices, labels, signs to adequately prepare, package label and inventory ingredients and merchandise.
• Must be able to operate a computerized scale, communicate with customers and perform basic math calculations.
• Must maintain a sense of integrity.
• High school diploma is preferred but not required.

REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATION:

• A valid Food Handler / Health Card

In addition to the specific essential functions of the job listed below, the overall qualifications include availability to work when scheduled, adequate transportation to arrive on time, a well-groomed, clean, neat appearance, the ability to deal with the public, related experience is preferred and integrity must be maintained at all times.
