Statewide Communications Inc. is seeking a Structured Cabling Technician for installation and repair of phone and data networks. An ideal candidate will be experienced in Low Voltage. Structured Cabling Technician Requirements:
- 2 years of experience installing Low Voltage CAT 5, CAT 6, CAT 6A and fiber connections.
- Ability to make patch panel terminations, conduct cable testing, make network jack connections, install data racks, terminate fiber optic cabling, and make fiber connections.
- Install, maintain, and repair low voltage systems and associated equipment.
- Follow blueprints, building diagrams, floor plans, and electrical layouts.
- Perform site surveys and review building/floor plans to define scopes of work, material requirements, and installation processes.
- Assist VoIP Engineers and Field Service Technicians with installation of VoIP phone systems.
- Assist VoIP Engineers and Field Service Technicians troubleshoot voice and data networks.
- Mount and install telecommunications data network equipment.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain, or repair low-voltage cabling and equipment.
- Use proper protective equipment and perform all work in a way that limits the risk of accident to themselves or others at all times.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of proper phone and email etiquette.
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust to shifting priorities.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and vehicle.
- Travel to each project assigned to; may include out of state travel. Company vehicle will be provided.
- Follow task management application or as directed by management.
- Work with staff to diagnose and resolve service issues through a support ticketing application.
- Communicate job completion to supervisors.
- May be required to work off normal work hours.
- Be on time and maintain a punctual schedule, as required.
Structured Cabling Technician Additional Desired Experience:
- Professional Certifications are a plus, not required: low voltage, BICSI, access control systems, POS systems, security cameras.
- Knowledge of commercial IT Networks for LAN and WAN.
- Knowledge of VoIP phone systems.
Structured Cabling Technician Additional Employment Requirements:
- Attention to detail.
- Must have the ability to climb ladders, crouch, kneel, work in confined areas for extended periods, and occasionally lift heavy objects.
- Valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record.
- Able to pass a criminal background check.
- Able to pass a drug test.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour
