Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Market Analysts to join Statkrafts’ Strategic Market Analysis team in Oslo.
The Strategic Market Analysis team is responsible for Statkraft’s long-term view of the development of power markets within which it operates. This includes developing a long-term view of power prices and high-quality insights to support business strategy and commercial processes. We are recruiting two power market analysts that will contribute to develop our long-term analysis of the European power markets.
The purpose of this role is to carry out fundamental long term power market analysis (qualitative and quantitative) for continental Europe, UK and Ireland and use the results and insights to support decision making within the company.
As a Senior Market Analyst you will:
- Closely monitor energy / power market development, identifying market trends, undertaking power market modelling, interpreting results, and drawing out strategic implications
- Lead on developing analytical methods, models, and deliveries
- Prepare background papers and presentations to support internal decision-making for example in investment decisions, asset valuations and strategy processes
- Take part in cross-Statkraft strategy and commercial processes
Qualifications
- Master degree in finance, economics, engineering or similar with good results
- Several years of relevant work experience in power market analysis
- Very good knowledge and understanding of the European power markets
- Experience with relevant power market modelling
- Used to work with large data sets (Excel, SQL, Python or similar)
- Highly structured, analytical and result oriented
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in at least one additional European language is an advantage
- A team player that can take own initiatives and have a creative mindset
- Strong personal integrity and high ethical standards

Statkraft manages critical infrastructure and services in several countries. The applicant must be eligible for security clearance and authorization.
The position will be located at the head office at Lilleaker, Oslo. Some travel will be required.
