Your day.
As an LPN in Surgery, you need to know how to:
- Assist and coordinate perioperative care in the surgical suite and the central sterile department.
- Demonstrate strong leadership qualities such as integrity, courage, respect, empathy, and self-awareness.
- Demonstrate safe perioperative care. Follow aseptic technique, have good manual dexterity to handle instrumentation and provide direct assistance to the surgeon during surgical procedures.
- Follow proper sterilization guidelines. Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize instrumentation to prevent patient injury and maximize surgical outcomes.
- Function effectively in a fast-paced operating room environment. Completed complicated tasks with accuracy and exhibit excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborate with all members of the surgery team to promote workflows and effective communication.
- Adapt to change and have a strong work ethic. Able to prioritize tasks under pressure and demonstrate proper time management.
- Use critical thinking skills, support efficiency, patient quality and safety.
- Maintain a positive attitude to promote teamwork and a pleasant work environment.
- Provide flexibility; adjust hours as needed to accommodate a variable surgery schedule, take rotating call (30 minute response time).
- Be able to deliver personal, compassionate care and have excellent customer service skills.
Your experience.

- Current Missouri LPN IV-Certified license.
- Previous Med Surg (1 year preferred) or related experience desired.
- BLS certification required.
- Previous EMR (Electronic Medical Record) experience required.
