This role will have leadership responsibility for inspiring the Tasting Room team to deliver exceptional visitor experiences and build brand ambassadors. The overall purpose of this position includes responsibility for leading Tasting Room operations and supporting daily engagement activities that drive sales results.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure proper execution of all aspects of Tasting Room operations, including customer engagement experiences, opening/closing procedures, inventory management, financial accountability and personnel management
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities including hiring and training personnel, creating work schedules, coaching and involvement in the disciplinary process
  • Oversee day to day inventory management & shipping to maintain service standards and regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for daily opening and closing procedures to include cash handling in an accurate and responsible fashion.
  • Create positive guest experiences through ongoing staff support and development
  • Provide clear direction and support to staff regarding department initiatives and programs
  • Assist in creation of weekly schedule that supports business needs
  • Provide a welcoming and enthusiastic atmosphere for all guests visiting the winery
  • Conduct winery tastings and events for guests (including VIP guests) of the winery as needed
  • Operate POS/registers to sell wine, merchandise, wine club memberships and to collect wine tasting fees as needed
  • Set clear direction during periods of high visitor traffic
  • Collaborate with Tasting Room Manager and Wine Club Manager to elevate wine club experience and overall performance
  • Assist with fulfillment of wine club and eCommerce orders as necessary, including; pulling, packing and processing wine orders for delivery, as well as curbside pickup.
  • Assist with the set-up, execution/service, and break-down of special events as requested.
  • Work closely with other departments such as Human Resources, Accounting and Marketing
  • Recognize that leadership, flexibility & service in this role is critical to its success

Position Requirements:

  • High school diploma required. Some college experience preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience with the ability to train and develop employees in a retail or relevant environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent leadership, customer service & strategic selling skills with the ability to train others, monitor their performance and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Must have a high level of ability for detail organization, problem solving and personnel management
  • Able to delegate to others to get results
  • Able to adjust plan (s) without hesitation
  • Availability must include varied hours and weekends
  • High energy level
  • Open to feedback from multiple sources
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • CA Responsible Beverage Training Certification
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.

Your Compensation:

$22.70 - $36.30/hourly based upon relevant experience.
