GENERAL PURPOSE: Responsible for leading a small team that provides reliable and consistent quality fleet / power washing services to remove accumulations of pollutants from surfaces in a professional and timely fashion following the high standards of quality set forth by Steamaway S Corp. The Lead is responsible for the overall performance and production of the two or three-man crew.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Must have extensive knowledge of the operations and be able to perform the same functions as a power wash operator/helper.
  • Strictly enforce all safety procedures including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (glasses, boots, protective masks, gloves, long sleeve company shirts, reflective gear, and rain suits). Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment for employees under his supervision.
  • Organize and delegate the workload of the wash crew to perform in the most productive and efficient manner possible.
  • Professionally discipline subordinates when they are not performing to expectation or when they are violating safety or personnel policies and/or procedures which includes attendance and tardiness. Work side to side with Mobile Operations Supervisor and HR Representative on the most effective way to handle employee issues.
  • Ensure that all machines and equipment required to perform the daily work are loaded before leaving the shop.  Must be proactive with daily inspections and basic maintenance of company vehicles, machines, equipment. Responsible for documenting any problems with machines and equipment for repairs or replacement. Must be able to know how to effectively provide basic repairs to machines on an as needed basis.
  • Responsible for keeping the company truck and trailer clean and organized to prevent any safety hazards.
  • Responsible for the proper and safe use of chemicals, soaps, detergents, degreasers and avoid over-usage and must have knowledge of adequate mixing of such chemicals.
  • Responsible for the compliance of the Recovery of Wash Water according to company policy specifications.
  • Must be present during inspections and/or reviews and be ready to provide comments and feedback regarding the work for Field Supervisor or Mobile Operations Supervisor.
  • Responsible for the completion and for turning in of all required paperwork daily including but not limited to crew members’ full names, any discrepancies during the work schedule, and any other required information.
  • Must show excellent attendance and punctuality and must work harmoniously with his crew, other employees, customers, and public by showing professional and courteous behavior.
  • Any other duties as assigned.


SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:


  • Should have a minimum of one year of recent proven experience supervising small teams of 2 employees or more.
  • Should possess technical knowledge to perform and power wash, fleet wash work and must have the ability to provide training of the operations.
  • Must have great knowledge of safety rules and procedures and work in compliance with OSHA requirements.
  • Must have a “can-do” mindset, be self-directed, problem-solver, show initiative and be adaptable and flexible with schedules daily.
  • Must have customer service skills and be detail oriented.
  • Effective and timely verbal and written communication skills with supervisors, customers, co-workers, and management.
  • Must be a team player and show initiative in meeting and exceeding sales goals.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to stand and walk all the time.
  • Reach and pull with hands and arms, both above and below the shoulder.
  • Climb, balance and stand on ladders.
  • Lift and move up to 75 pounds.
  • Use hand tools and other equipment.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Subject to outdoor weather conditions through all seasons (cold and hot weather).
  • Must be able to work with strong detergents and chemicals.
  • Must be able to workdays and weekends.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment.
