POSITION SUMMARY
Come work and play in the mountains by joining the Lift Operations team.
As a Ticket Checker you will play an essential role to the overall operations of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation. Our team works primarily in the lift lines and mazes greeting guests and ensuring their pass or ticket works correctly. This is a unique role at the resort not only providing a fun, welcoming atmosphere for our guests but also ensuring our products integrity by validating passes or tickets every ride.
Housing is NOT available for this position
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Provide excellent Guest service
Greeting, welcoming, and providing information to our guests (verbally, message boards, conditions, etc.)
Validate Ticket or pass for each rider
Refuse transportation to individuals without tickets or intoxicated
Responsible for proper; care, operation, and storage of ticket gates, tablets, scanners, etc. (assigned daily)
Perform timely and effective ticket resolution
Courteously handle situations related to ticket issues
Responsible for; building, maintaining, and tearing down mazes as needed
Monitors traffic flow in lift lines and provides direction and crowd control as needed
Comprehensive knowledge of pass and ticket products, special mountain events, and other resort information
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Manage conflicts and difficult situations in a busy environment
The ability to complete snow grooming, much like landscaping, with lots of raking and shoveling
Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management consistent with Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s Service Excellence standards
Compliance with all company policies, safety, and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: Starting at $18.50 per hour
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be minimum 18 years of age
Read, write, and communicate verbally in the English language
Stand for long periods of time
Work outside in extreme weather conditions
Shovel, scoop, and rake snow
Perform back and forth twisting motion
Must be comfortable lifting up to 30 lbs. on a daily basis
Must maintain a professional well-groomed appearance
Ski or snowboard experience is helpful but not required
