Description
The SAP Business Analyst understands the operations of the business unit and can see and articulate opportunities for improvement in processes, procedures, systems, and/or operations. This is a functional position and plays a key role in facilitating changes by partnering with the business unit and shared corporate IT resources. The SAP Business Analyst works directly in the business unit to develop strong relationships, build functional knowledge, and have a complete understanding of the business needs and priorities.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains strong relationships with business units and corporate functional areas. Acts as a liaison and point of contact between business units and/or functional and technical IT resources.
- Understands business units’ operational workflows and processes. Works to identify opportunities for improvement. Assists in developing solutions with business units’ partnership and delivers accurate business requirements to IT resources.
- Participate, and often lead the design phases of assigned projects, which includes supplying business knowledge to the design phase and verifying the end blueprint satisfies the actual business requirements of the project.
- Lead and assist in overall integration and business unit testing efforts. Develops and implements testing plans for assigned projects.
- Create project and process documentation and training materials. This includes providing accurate, accessible documentation as needed to transition knowledge to end-users and support staff.
- Support and troubleshoot end-user training, access, and use of systems.
- Provide first-level help-desk support to the business unit
- Continuously improve existing business processes and strive to develop new ones to improve efficiency
Physical & Work Requirements:
- Requires ability to perform primary job responsibilities while spending long periods at a computer
- 0 to 50% travel as required
Required Background, Competencies & Expertise:
- Bachelor's degree in business, MIS, or related field, or three years of relevant experience
