Quality Manager

Steel Technologies is seeking a Quality Manager. The quality manager coordinates and implements the quality program designed to ensure continual production of product consistent with established standards. The person in this role will act as a liaison with production employees, customers, and outside sales.

Experience with an automotive supplier and TS16969/IATF16949 knowledge is strongly preferred.

How You’ll Contribute:

• Build, strengthen and maintain quality system
• Promote positive quality driven culture
• Responsible for quality planning function, including PPAP submission as required
• Work with management teams to develop strategies to improve productivity, quality and reducing related conversion costs
• Review and monitor scrap and rejected materials
• Ensure effective implementation of control plans and FMEAs
• Management and application of statistical tools, controls IMTE requirements ensuring calibrated equipment and MSA applications
• Effect corrective action in matters related to quality
• Act as liaison between customer and outside sales to resolve customer quality concerns
• Coordinate disposition of materials

What You Need to Be Successful:

• Prefer an Associate’s degree in related field or proven experience including training or certificate(s)
• Prefer prior supervisory experience
• Proven communication and problem solving skills
• Must have knowledge of ISO and TS16949/IATF16949 standards
• Basic computer and data entry skills- Word, Excel, Outlook
• Working knowledge of FMEA, PPAP, APQP and Control Plans
• Ability to travel up to 25%
