Summary
Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, the General Labor employee is responsible for identifying, assembling, packing, sorting, and separating parts in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble finished metal parts to prepare final product
- Pack material ensuring all quality standards are met for all pieces
- Examine work and check defects regularly
- Check work area for hazards
- Complete maintain any required paperwork
- Leave work area in a clean/safe state when shift is complete
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
- High school degree preferred
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and other equipment is a plus
- Experience with rivet guns is helpful
Other skills
- Basic Blue Print Reading Skills
- Ability to use a tape measure/square/calipers
- Demonstrated ability to calculate basic math
- Demonstrated ability to convert decimals to fractions
- Quality/Safety Conscious
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and write
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization.
Salary : $32,000 - $40,500
