Job Summary: 

SIS is looking for an outstanding Multimedia, A/V Systems & VTC Specialist to perform a broad range of tasks associated with the implementation, operation, administration, maintenance and end-user support of Audio Visual (A/V) and video teleconferencing (VTC) infrastructure, endpoint devices, video streaming and digital signage. In addition, the Networked Multimedia, A/V Systems & VTC Specialist will:

Job Duties:

Provide Audio/Visual and technical support of event technology equipment used in presentations, organizational meetings, and conferences including audio conferencing, recording, streaming media, video conferencing and web conferencing.

Performs troubleshooting of equipment and connections to analyze, isolate and correct operational faults in the equipment, including the replacement of hardware and systems.

Evaluate alternative technologies and architectures in relation to distant learning communication infrastructure needs.

Use knowledge and information supplied to perform or support system design, installation, integration, test, troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.

Interface with stakeholders and vendors to develop, enhance and implement new capabilities to support distant learning current and future needs

Prepare inputs to system’s related technical and operational documentation; maintain system hardware and software configuration data; research proposed system enhancements; develop and implement user training programs; participate in meetings, design reviews, etc. relating to the system; identifies and reports on issues or related problems and potential risks; recommends risk mitigation actions.

Work independently, under general guidelines established by supervisor, modifies and/or adapts techniques and standard approaches to solve moderately difficult problems encountered

Skills and Qualifications:

• Experience with the operation of video bridge equipment for large teleconferences to include infrastructure equipment (MCUs, firewall traversal and ISDN Gateways) configuration and dial plan infrastructure
• Working knowledge in related protocols and configuration of end user VTC systems.
• Working knowledge of routing equipment and their interfaces with VTC hardware, ISDN and IP telecommunication circuits.
• Experience with video streaming (live and on demand streaming)
• Candidate must have the ability to setup and configure Video Teleconference units, upgrade phone books, and firmware on both Cisco and Polycom VTC units.
• Candidate will be required to perform required maintenance of all A/V and VTC equipment including patching, upgrades.
• Candidate consults with client(s) and internal engineering groups to create and/or review requirements, functional specifications and detailed designs.
• Candidate will assist with developing and overseeing the adherence to maintenance and performance standards of data, voice or video network hardware and systems.
• Candidate shall aid in the scheduling, planning, coordinating, and operation of A/V and VTC equipment.
• Candidate will require expert technical knowledge related to configuration and installation of VTC devices including: MCU, gatekeeper, border controller, management server, endpoint units.
• Candidate will provide support for all hardware and software related requirements for various VTC sites, including room-based VTC systems and desktop VTC units.

 Education / Certifications / Experience:

• Minimum 3 years’ professional experience with a minimum Associates degree
• Or, Minimum 7 years' professional experience without a college degree
• Must possess a Department of Defense (DOD) Secret Clearance
• Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD IAT Level I certification requirements (CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification)
• US citizenship is mandatory.
