The Electrical Test Technician is responsible for providing high-quality technical acumen for the Stem products to our rapidly growing customer base. This person should be comfortable working with both electronic hardware and software applications.
The day-to-day will primarily be focused on configuration and testing of all hardware shipped from our facility. This includes quality testing, setting up all devices on Stem’s monitoring platform, and following standard operating procedures. The individual will be responsible for reviewing assembly-level work to ensure the product will meet customer expectations.
This position will work closely with the Production Engineers and Assembly Technicians to ensure quality standards are met for all products. The individual will help the Production Engineers maintain testing and configuration procedures for new and existing hardware. We are willing to train the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
- Under general supervision, works in a collaborative team environment on the Production floor to deliver high quality Data Acquisition Systems to our customers.
- Deliver efficient and accurate work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ensure the customer’s product meets Stem’s quality standards.
- Escalation of configuration issues to appropriate parties.
- Follow established standard operating procedures for testing and configuration of hardware.
- Ability to be cross trained in other department roles.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Relevant trade or prior work experience
- Associates or relevant technical degree is a plus
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of electrical systems or circuits is highly recommended.
- Experience with electrical circuit, system testing, and troubleshooting.
- Experience reading and understanding electrical schematics, BOM, and sales orders.
- Experience with networking and data communications is a plus.
- Desire to continually learn and improve.
- Attention to detail and quality.
- Work both individually and as a team.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision against tight deadlines.
- Work overtime as needed to meet Production demands.
- Effective communication skills, especially when reporting on technical issues with both technical and non-technical people.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing and Production Setting.
- Moderate to high noise levels (i.e., warehouse with power tools, machinery, high traffic)
- Ability to sit or stand (standing desk provide upon request) at a workstation terminal for an extended period.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate (talk/sign/type/write) and operate a computer, telephone (or alternative), keyboard (or typing device), etc.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
- Regular, predictable attendance is required.
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools as needed.

Stem offers a competitive salary and a full list of benefits, including full health benefits on the first day of employment (several medical plan options-HDHP and PPO, 2 dental plans, FSA/HSA-with employer contribution, employer paid vision/LTD/STD/Life), 401k on first of employment with match (first 3% contribution matched at 100%, next 2% contribution matched at 50%) and no vesting period, 9 paid calendar holidays per year, 3 floating holidays per year, and 3 weeks of PTO per year that begins accruing day one
Stem is offering an estimated $500 sign on bonus that will be paid out on first payroll. Please note, it is an estimated amount because we actually pay a bonus of $625 in order to take on the majority of the tax, in hopes the Net bonus equals roughly $500, depending on personal tax elections

This is an hourly nonexempt position, M-F, with additional weekend work as required.
Salary Range: $25.00-$27.00/hour. (over 40 hrs. per week 1.5 x hourly rate)
