Our Portfolio Accountants are primarily responsible for the following:
- Ensure timely preparation for fiscal year end activities of the properties and corporate entities o Includes: assisting in year-end cycle, external auditor preparation, return to owner computations and year end reporting
- Engage property and district managers with Yardi work order issues and resolve them
- Review property accounts payable invoice batches versus budget o Contact property personnel for budget variances
- Review and coordinate back up and cross training functions
- Establish and maintain accounting procedures and internal controls
- Prepare quarterly draws for replacement reserve expenditures to various escrow agents
- Assist Property Tax Consultant with various tax appeals
- Led by Controller
- Perform all the above and other related duties as assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies
Don’t sell yourself short. Our Portfolio Accountant must have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or associate degree in Accounting required
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in accounting and/or financial systems
- Strong working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel,
PowerPoint) required o Yardi program knowledge is a plus
- Proficient skills in reading, writing, grammar and mathematics required
- Excellent interpersonal relations, communicative skills, and a customer-focused service orientation required
