What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Account Manager position at Sterman Masser Inc?
SUMMARY: The Sales Account Manager is responsible for developing sales, business strategy, and customer management for all retail and food service sales for Sterman Masser Inc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead efforts to expand profitable retail sales.
- Partner with company management to develop and implement strategies for maintaining new accounts and achieving sales goals.
- Assist in efforts to grow fresh cut potato sales with food service distributors.
- Collect customer orders from different sources and ensure order is entered into the company's system accurately. This includes verifying correct pricing by having an understanding of the customer price list, freight charges, and ads that will impact the price.
- Utilize Envio, Masser data base system, on a daily basis to perform such tasks as printing BOL's, update customer price sheets, enter prices weekly, make sure each direct sales order has been shipped, approve direct ship loads, etc.
- Work with production and logistics teams to facilitate and execute order changes as they occur.
- Proactively ensure the company is aware of all customer promotional plans, and those plans are presented to sales management, production team, and logistics in a timely fashion.
- Provide sales report and trends on key accounts to management as needed. May provide analysis and recommendations of how to improve account performance.
- Work with account managers to provide account coverage when out of office.
- Work with AP and customer to resolve billing disputes.
- Demonstrate exceptional customer interaction skills that enhance relationships and facilitate an environment that mitigates customer issues. Communication is key. Communication must be complete, timely, and accurate.
- Develop, maintain, and improve business relations with existing and potential customer base.
- Insure we're providing our customers the highest level of customer service to meet their needs while utilizing all services available.
- Assist in production of quarterly category performance reviews for key customers.
- Work with sales leadership to develop strategies, implement and execute key account sales strategies.
- Analyze sales strategies and sales programs to maximize efficiency.
- Support new product launches with promotional/marketing support.
- Accurately forecast monthly and quarterly sales activity and trends.
- Utilize data to make the best decisions.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate internally, as well as with partner companies to meet customer needs.
- Maintain strong communication lines with production team and upper management.
- Communication and collaboration with supply partners.
- Assist procurement team in sourcing efforts to meet customer expectations and demand.
- Assist with new packaging design and implementation.
- Assist packaging material manager with inventory on hand and future projects.
- Perform after-hours service on accounts as required (including weekends/nights).

- Bachelor's degree required.
- Driver's License required.
- Specific experience with potato sales is preferred; general produce experience considered.

- Go-getter attitude with the ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts.
- Ability to analyze consumer trends and evolving category demands.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
