Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join one of our esteemed clients, responsible for developing curated data models, ETL pipelines, and views in a cloud-based environment to support analytics and reporting needs. The ideal candidate will assist with migrating our data delivery platform from on-premises to the cloud, providing guidance on best practices and industry recommendations. Experience with the Azure stack and cloud-based data engineering is highly preferred. Strong SQL skills and the ability to communicate effectively between business and technical users are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain data models, ETL pipelines, and views to support business analytics and reporting needs in a cloud-based environment.
- Assist in migrating data delivery platforms from on-premises to the cloud, ensuring smooth transition and minimal disruption.
- Provide guidance and support for setting up new cloud environments, leveraging industry best practices and hands-on experience.
- Standardize data modeling and design frameworks for analysis, design, building, testing, and maintenance.
- Extract, retrieve, and analyze data using SQL-based tools.
- Collaborate with business and technical users to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.
- Adhere to data governance standards and practices to ensure data integrity and security.
- Work in an agile development environment, utilizing Azure Boards for project tracking and management.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a focus on cloud-based environments.
- Proven experience with data migration from on-premises to cloud platforms.
- Strong knowledge of the Azure stack (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure SQL Database).
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with SQL-based tools for data extraction and analysis.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between business and technical users.
- Familiarity with data governance standards and practices.
- Experience working in an agile development environment and using Azure Boards for project management.
