What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant/Associate Teaching Professor of Project Management position at Stevens Institute of Technology?
The School of Business at Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ invites applications for a non-tenure track full time faculty position in Project Management at the Assistant or Associate Industry (or Teaching) Professor level beginning September 2023.
Qualifications: Candidates must have earned a doctoral degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management or a closely related field before September 2023. We are especially interested in candidates with expertise and interests pertaining to different project management methodologies (adaptive and predictive). Other areas of interest include organizational change, operations management, software production and business analysis with emphasis on requirement analysis and systems engineering.
The ideal candidate possesses a combination of related academic and practitioner experiences and has a strong track of record of teaching excellence across multiple levels (undergraduate, graduate and executive education) and experience in designing innovative project management training and/or academic courses. A candidate's writing and research accomplishments are also of considerable interest. The rank of the position will be based on candidate experience and qualifications.
Job responsibilities:
The person in this position will play a critical role in helping the University realize its mission of developing project managers for a globally interconnected and increasingly technology-centric work environment. The candidate will teach courses in project management and or related areas of technology management and operations management and will collaborate with others in the School of Business to develop meaningful project management courses and programming for our students, our corporate community, and other stakeholders. This includes contributing to our initiative to offer preparation seminars to our graduate students for professional certifications like CAPM, DASM or CPM etc. Depending upon the incumbent's background and interests the position will also involve research activities and other scholarly contributions.
