Job Summary
The Marketing Events Specialist will take a lead role in the execution of Stifel Fixed Income’s conference and client event calendars. The position will work closely with the Director of Marketing and other marketing team members in a dynamic and team-oriented environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Execute the department’s conference and client events, including trade shows, seminars, sponsorships, outings, speaking opportunities and dinners.
- Responsible for all logistical phases of event/vendor management, including scheduling, location scouting, registration, material preparation, hotel/travel and delivery/return of materials.
- Hire and manage relationships with vendors, including restaurants, transportation companies, hotels, onsite staff, etc.
- Work independently on events, while also working closely with Director of Marketing and leveraging the marketing team resource when appropriate.
- Comfortable working and interacting with other levels of management and other departments.
- Update and maintain annual event calendar and costs while helping research assess and recommend future conference, sponsorship and speaking opportunities. Maintain database of client contacts made through conferences, client events, and other marketing initiatives and communicate with our sales team about those contacts.
- Work with the marketing team in the development of invitations, confirmations, submissions, and follow-up client correspondence.
- Provide general marketing support in helping maintain marketing materials, answering sales requests, completing in-house print jobs and responding to general marketing inquiries.
- Travel required providing onsite support for conference schedule.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated event management experience in a corporate environment and the ability to develop and execute an event calendar.
- Ability to build relationships with event organizers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience working with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms and an ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, such as company memos, customer correspondence, instructions and reports.
- Writing skills for event invitations, event proposals, speaker submissions, and vendor/customer correspondence.
Education and Experience
- Minimum Required: Bachelor’s Degree from four year college/university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum required: 5 work related experience.

Systems and Technology
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
