Purchasing ClerkI. Job SummaryGenerally the Purchasing Clerk assists the Purchasing Department with various clerical duties. Primary duties will include comparing product information by vendor from one system to another, and updating or entering information when differences occur. Additional duties may include a combination of answering telephones, scanning, typing or word processing, office machine operation, filing, and other point of sale functions as needed. All functions require the ability to maintain discretion regarding confidential information, as well as working independently and professionally in a fast-paced office environment. III. QualificationsA. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Some additional education is preferred. B. Training and Experience: Computer literacy, typing, expertise in Microsoft Office programs; Must be able to learn new tasks, work well under pressure; Positive attitude and proficient written and verbal communication skills are required.C. Job Knowledge: Office/clerical knowledge required. D. Physical Demands: Work requires little physical effort, involves sitting, standing, walking, and some light lifting on a regular basis. Works in air-conditioned environment. (Important: This job is classified in the physical demands section of the job description [Form IV-31] as constant light duty work and occasional medium work. IV. Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesA. Must be familiar and in compliance with Stine Policies and ProceduresB. Take incoming telephone calls with the ability to direct calls to the appropriate team member as needed, and take messages when appropriate. C. Page over the public address system when necessary. D. Compile, copy, sort, scan, import, export and file confidential purchasing records.E. Provide overall administrative support to the Purchasing Department.F. Audit product information files in comparison from one system to another. G. Update files as needed with new or missing information.H. Point of sale functions as needed or assigned.I.
