Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Restaurant Chef to join our culinary team. The Restaurant Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen operations, including menu creation, food preparation, inventory management, and staff supervision. The ideal candidate should have a deep passion for culinary arts, excellent leadership abilities, and a strong understanding of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
Responsibilities:
1. Menu/Features Creations:
- Work with our Corporate Chef and General Manager to develop creative and diverse features that align with our restaurant's concept, customer preferences, and seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Research and incorporate new and innovative cooking techniques, trends, and flavors to enhance the menu offerings.
- Ensure the menu items are priced appropriately to maintain profitability while providing value to customers.
2. Food Preparation and Presentation:
- Oversee the preparation and execution of dishes according to established recipes, quality standards, and portion sizes.
- Train and supervise kitchen staff to maintain consistency in taste, presentation, and timing.
- Regularly inspect the quality of ingredients and ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards.
3. Kitchen Operations:
- Manage inventory levels and control food cost by monitoring waste, portion control, and effective storage practices.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source and select high-quality ingredients while optimizing cost effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and maintain hygiene standards in the kitchen.
4. Staff Management and Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor kitchen staff members, motivating them to perform at their best.
- Create and maintain a positive work environment to foster teamwork, open communication, and personal growth.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for skills development and training.
5. Customer Experience:
- Consistently deliver an exceptional dining experience to customers through high-quality food, presentation, and service.
- Actively engage with guests, gather feedback, and address any concerns or special requests promptly.
- Collaborate with the front-of-house staff to ensure smooth communication and coordination between the kitchen and dining area.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Restaurant Chef or similar role, preferably in a high-volume establishment.
- Culinary degree or equivalent certification is strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of different cuisines, cooking techniques, and flavor profiles.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
