What You Will Do as an Activity Aide

As a Stonerise activity aide, you will assist the Activities Director with the planning, coordinating training, administering of the activities and social programs for the center. Some of your primary responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Activities Director with activities that will provide entertainment, communication, exercise, relaxation, and expression of creativity
- Assisting with programs designed to fulfill basic psychological and spiritual needs of the patients
- Encouraging hobbies and crafts among patients in groups or individually
- Integrating activities with other services and care provided for the patients
- Ascertaining from the physician’s orders any limitations that the patient may have in participating in activities
- Assisting in planning parties, games, and encouraging patients to assist in planning (e.g., making decorations for holidays/special events)
- Providing in room activities to patients unable to leave their rooms
- Assuring the programs address and contain empowerment, maintenance, and supportive activities
