LIFEGUARDS NEEDED FOR THE 2024 SUMMER SEASON
Description: Are you looking for a fun, rewarding, and flexible summer position? Summer is just around the corner and the Stonewood Estates Community is looking for Part-Time Lifeguards eager to serve the community and help create safe and fun recreation activities for all our patrons. Not lifeguard certified? Sign up for a lifeguard training course in March or April. Candidates who successfully complete the Lifeguard training course and are hired by the Stonewood Estates community will receive full reimbursement for the cost of their Lifeguard certification if the person works the full summer (Memorial Day to Labor Day) and completes a minimum of 200 work hours.
PURPOSE: The primary responsibility as a lifeguard is to prevent drowning and other injuries from occurring. Candidatesmust be able toensure the safety of patrons by minimizing or eliminating hazardous situations or behaviors. This person will need to be able to solve on-the-job issues by utilizing practical critical thinking and decision-making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations.Lifeguards must be able to enforce poolpolicies and communicate effectively why policies are in place.
Summer Position: The job will be from Memorial Day weekend till Labor Day.
Work Hours: The pool is open Tuesday-Sunday. The hours are usually 12:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. You may have to stay a couple of hours later for occasional swim meets. Guards will be working a maximum of 5 days per week
Minimum Requirements:
- Current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification Required, currently enrolled in the course, or willing to complete the course before the start of the pool season.
- Current CPR/ First Aid/AED Certifications Required, currently enrolled in the course, or willing to complete the course before the start of the pool season.
Job Requirements and Responsibilities:
- Checking in with residents and verifying the addresses of people as they enter to ensure only residents of the association and their guests are allowed entry
- Supervises swimming activities at the Stonewood Estates community pool and ensures that policies, guidelines, and safety procedures are followed.
- Warns swimmers of improper activities or danger and enforces pool regulations and water safety policies.
- Administers first aid in the event of injury rescues swimmers in distress or danger of drowning, and administers CPR and/or artificial respiration, if necessary.
- Evaluate conditions for safety and initiate emergency action plan as required.
- Assist with checking the pools and related facilities to ensure safety. Assist with chlorine, PH, and other pool water tests as needed.
- Inspects pool facilities, equipment, and water to ensure they are safe and usable. Responsible for contacting the Board, the association’s pool company, or the management company to resolve any pool equipment or chemical issues as soon as they are noticed.
