Director Market Data

Overview

This position is responsible for developing, leading, managing, Enterprise Market Data department to harness and leverage the firm’s Market data assets. This role will actively collaborate with various business streams to streamline market data sourcing, standardize delivery of Real time & Delayed Streaming, Snapshot data, architecting and storing historical market data. Establishes and implements processes, standards, and KPIs for Market Data Engineering, Statistical Analytics, Business Intelligence, with attention to all technical aspects.

Responsibilities

• Technical Management of the Central Market Data Realtime function.
• Feeds, real-time ticker engines and real-time analytics etc.
• Technical Management of Central non-real time Information function.
• Security mastering, Corporate actions, News, EOD rates, reference rates, historical data, market intelligence data etc.
• Day to Day Team Management
• Responsible for architecture and design
• Quality and performance
• Organize effective Support for Production systems
• Delivery and Project Management
• Work closely with Scrum Master
• Manage work load and priorities in coordination with Business and technical team
• Progress reports to management
• Roadmap planning
• Support to Vendor Management Team
• Exchange and Feed vendor audits
• Robust entitlements and Reporting
• Communications
• Build relationships with appropriate contacts in the various business units
• Deal with issues promptly with frequent communication with stakeholders
• Understand pain points in business units and propose central solutions
• Technical
• Code Review
• Identify technical debt and address
• Write Code where necessary

Qualifications

Essential:

Managing medium sized teams (minimum 3 years, teams of at least 8 staff)

History of successful management and execution of projects

Excellent Communication skills

History of supporting Critical production systems effectively

C Development (must-have, minimum 3 years of experience)

Experience with threading, real-time, low latency and lockless techniques

Experience with Linux

Understanding of NUMA, L1 cache, TCP Offload, PTP time synch and other hardware considerations

Experience with Market Data and TREP development

Working in an Agile, Scrum process

Desirable Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

                Experience with performance optimization

                Working with streaming “real time” messaging in a distributed enterprise

                low latency programming experience

                Messaging (TREP Refinitiv - RFA/UPA/Elektron, MDF/OMM)

                Knowledge of C 17

                Python, Bash or any other scripting language
