What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scrum Master position at Storable?
Storable is looking for a Scrum Master to teach and enable our software development process. You will collaborate with cross functioning leadership and highly skilled engineering teams in a fast-moving environment where everyone’s common goal is to build and enable self-managed teams as they deliver outstanding software while having fun. As an Agile Trainer at Storable, you must be passionate about communication, group dynamics, and coaching. You are not afraid to raise issues and drive change. You should be comfortable working with more than one team in an open-ended environment where roles are flexible, everything is changing and communication is essential.
All applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Location: Remote

What you’ll do every day:
- Ensure there is a clear and actionable vision for Scrum and agile practices at Storable
- Train designated team Scrum Masters how to facilitate sprint planning and task definition, sprint execution, daily scrum, sprint review, and retrospectives.
- Teach a deep understanding of lean and scrum practices helping designated team Scrum Masters understand the “why” behind the practices, so they can determine how to apply them effectively
- Ensure teams are regularly looking for opportunities to improve and trying new things.
- Mentor/coach scrum teams on best practices for defining the minimally viable product, relative sizing, and acceptance criteria definition and explain the importance of each.
- Mentor/coach the team with the creation and maintenance of scrum team artifacts including but not limited to the Definition of Ready and Definition of Done.
- Produce continued learning materials and create a teaching culture around Agile best practices across the organization.
- Influence change across all of our products to help design the best scaled agile environment possible
- Work with new teams as they are formed to set them on the right path, encouraging a self-managed Scrum team who understands how to efficiently and effectively deliver value.
What you need to bring to the table:
- 8 years experience working on Scrum teams as a Scrum Master
- Experience in coaching agile practices in environments with more than 5 teams
- Experience with Agile adoption and change management.
- You have coached others and can teach others to do the same. You enjoy collaborating with, learning from, and teaching others so we all become better.
- You are passionate about high-quality software development, the people, process, and tools that support it.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication with a deep understanding of group dynamics. You are effective in many types of communication and are driven to keep others well informed and aligned with everything you are doing.
- You set goals without being asked and meet or renegotiate those goals without reminders. You pride yourself on nothing falling through the cracks.
- You naturally identify process inefficiencies and are driven to solve those issues by putting simple systems in place. You are fast to respond and people know they can count on you to follow through.
- You are a people person, naturally liked by everyone. You connect easily with a wide variety of styles. People tend to want to pull you into work with them or drop by to get your input. You naturally build community and relationships that make the work environment fun.
