Stórica Studio is a proudly woman and minority owned and operated jewelry store offering demi-fine and fine jewelry with a special emphasis on known-origin and recycled materials. We are committed to providing our diverse customer base with a friendly, accessible and distinctly un-stuffy jewelry shopping experience. We are seeking someone who shares this passion to join our team as a Jewelry Sales Associate. Before we get into the nitty gritty details, here’s a little bit about what makes us a special place to work and shop.

The majority of our team is self-taught. We believe in providing opportunities for people to pursue their passion for jewelry and explore different parts of the industry.

We are one of the few jewelry stores in the area with a complete production studio in our store staffed by a team of women jewelers and are working towards our pieces being 100% made in Seattle.

We believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to own jewelry that brings that unbridled joy. We welcome everyone into our store and happily work with them wherever they are at. Whether it’s a simple silver pendant or an intricate diamond ring, we are honored to have the opportunity to help customers find a meaningful piece of jewelry.

As a Sales Associate, you will be the first to welcome customers into our store. The ideal candidate for this role is motivated to form meaningful relationships with customers and will help them find the piece of jewelry that is perfect for them. In this role, you will be a part of a dynamic, fun-loving team with the opportunity to grow your experience in jewelry, customer service and sales.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Enthusiastically greet customers and help them find the perfect jewelry that matches their style and needs.
  • Develop a strong understanding of our products, including the unique values that make Stórica Studio a different kind of jewelry store.
  • Provide a high level of customer service - listening closely to customers’ needs and developing great relationships.
  • Stay informed on jewelry trends and keep track of what customers are looking for. Collaborate with the rest of the Stórica team to grow and refine our product assortment.
  • Process sales transactions accurately, ensuring specifications for made-to-order items are clearly and accurately documented and the right expectations are provided to customers.
  • Efficiently answer customer inquiries regarding order status, repairs and custom designs.
  • Help maintain the visual appearance of the store by merchandising our product and helping to keep the showroom clean and organized.
  • Work with the rest of the Stórica team to achieve goals and create a fun and supporting working environment.

To be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have 1-2 years of experience in a jewelry or luxury retail environment.
  • Be comfortable working with a diverse customer base and a diverse team.
  • Be excited about jewelry and eager to expand your knowledge about the industry including deepening your knowledge of gemstones, materials, production techniques and jewelry repairs.
  • Be passionate about ethical and sustainable jewelry practices and be able to educate customers on our unique focus on known-origin and recycled materials.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to easily establish rapport with customers and clearly communicate internally regarding custom jewelry design and jewelry repair work.
  • Be comfortable on the computer, including proficiency with point of sale software, email, spreadsheets and word processing.
  • Be willing to work a retail schedule that includes weekends.
  • Be flexible to wear different hats as needed in a small business.

Compensation:

  • Compensation for this role starts at $22/hour bonus. Total compensation will depend on experience.
