What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accounting Analyst position at Stoughton Trailers?
The Cost Accounting Analyst supports the Plant Accountants who partner with the Plant Manager(s) to provide financial analysis of plant operations so appropriate financial decisions can be made, especially on cost controls and reductions.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Participate in annual Physical Inventory process for locations assigned• Assist with Standard Cost Variance Analysis and reporting• Assist Plant Accountants in analyzing monthly results with Plant Manager(s) and participate in monthly management reviews of locations• Support of annual budgeting and monthly forecasting of plant spend• Execute special projects as directed by Accounting Management• Perform posting of transactions to the GL for timely cut off• Standard costing of new items• Review item masters for data integrity (ie – phantoms identified as such)• Support annual audit and work with external auditors

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS: • Should have 1 years of experience with standard cost accounting and/or Bill of Materials• Good Microsoft Office suite skills required.• Excel skills required.• Experience in a manufacturing accounting environment preferred• Good verbal and written communication skills• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to work within a team environment and highly functional as a team member• Must be able to balance workloads and multi-task while remaining cognizant of multiple reporting deadlines• Must have strong work ethics during high volume periods
EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE Two year degree in Accounting requiredBachelor’s degree in Accounting preferredStandard Cost Accounting experience preferred
