The Position:
STRAND is looking for a Project Architect to join our Dallas, TX office to support our Commercial Architecture Team.
STRAND is a growing company with opportunities to advance and learn alongside accomplished business leaders. Tasks to include but are not limited to:
- Working with a team during all phases of design and construction.
- Positively contributes to teams to carry out client projects & business initiatives
- Responsible for planning, developing, and executing technical documentation and detailing including interpreting, organizing, and coordinating project team assignments
- With support from support staff, will create all project documentation production of schematic, design development and construction documents. They will be responsible for all coordination with consultants, designers, and clients.
- This role will be the primary point person for construction teams and perform construction administration duties (e.g., RFI’s, RFP’s, change orders, etc.)
- Act as mentor to Project Leads
- Fully review/redline all architectural projects which fall under IBC purview
- Review/redline consultant drawings as they relate to a complete construction document package
- Execute applicable agency review analysis (accessibility, zoning, life-safety, etc.)
- Maintain budget, task schedule, project schedule and other components of a workplan
- Remote/WFH opportunities with 80 % of time in-office, locally based required
Qualifications:
· 9 years of in Commercial Architecture industry with variety of experience in construction types. Effective knowledge of at least 3 of the following: tilt-up, steel, cast-in-place, and wood.
· 4 years of combined construction observation/Project Management/Construction Administration experience
· Architecture License required; 4 years minimum
· Revit proficiency is required. Please do not apply without substantiated Revit experience.

- Good communication skills required (both oral and written)
· Knowledge of architectural principles/practice, project coordination, building codes/zoning, full design scope services including construction administration
· High technical understanding of construction and architectural detailing
· Ability to review structural, MEP, landscape, and civil drawings thoroughly.
- Working through design and production of drawings, from schematic design through construction documents, on a variety of building types.
- Conspicuous understanding and application of ICC codes, local ordinances, and zoning.
