Job Summary

The Production Planner/Scheduling Manager is responsible for developing the master production planning to satisfy customer demand while maintaining minimum effective inventory levels. This position is also in charge of developing all material requirements needed to satisfy planning and production requirements. The qualified individual will be responsible for providing the plant with a monthly production plan consistent with the planned plant capacity and sales forecast. Working in conjunction with Operations Management and other Logistics personnel, the Production Planner / Scheduling Manager will be responsible for maintaining the desired inventory levels for all finished goods to include kit level requirements. The sales forecasts, new business opportunities, customer expectations, and internal supply constraints will be used to develop production plans. Strong collaboration with the Business Managers, Operations, Sales, Customer Service, Purchasing, and Management will be critical to meeting business goals.

General Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Continued development of planning tools for production and purchasing requirements.
  • Runs weekly and monthly production planning reports by product, establishes and releases all related production requirements by creating needed shop orders.
  • Plans and releases all related material requirements to support the weekly / monthly planning and scheduling needs.
  • Maintains Monthly Finite Scheduling and related Material Requirements Planning.
  • Works together with shop managers to develop and maintain weekly production schedules by department and machine while monitoring work in process priorities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience of Master Scheduling and Planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Must have a good fundamental understanding of CNC production operations and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Access.
  • SQL Table & Macro Enabled Worksheets experience required.
  • Experience using MRP/ERP systems - SYSPRO a plus.
  • CPIM certification a plus.
