What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Technician position at StratasCorp?
Our team, supporting Military Sealift Command (MSC), in Chesapeake, VA has an immediate need for a Quality Control Technician. This position will be responsible for conducting Quality Control inspections of MSC shipboard computer network systems during the build, deployment, and sustainment phases of their lifecycle. Primary responsibilities include:
* Conduct inspections of servers being built by StratasCorp technicians
* Conduct inspections during and after shipboard installations conducted by StratasCorp technicians
* Conduct inspections during and after sustainment visits conducted by StratasCorp technicians
* Report inspection findings to the Quality Assurance (QA lead)
* Provide input to QA processes and QC inspection checklists
* Define a knowledge management (KM) strategy for the project that incorporates and optimizes the people, processes, and tools supporting MSC shipboard networks
* Develop a roadmap strategy for future KM improvements that build on industry best practices and leverages available tools and processes
* Lead a small team responsible for implementation and continued oversight of the KM strategy
* Work effectively across the organization and with external stakeholders to develop and support new and existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), processes, meetings, and tools to facilitate and enhance information sharing between groups
* Create and review Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for adoption and usage of KM content, and provide regular reports illustrating the benefits, outcomes, and improvement opportunities for KM
* Must possess current IAT II or higher security certification in accordance with IAWF DoD 8570.01M
* Must have at least 5 years of experience in a technical or QA/QC role
* Must be able to travel up to 70% of the year. This level of travel is not guaranteed but is an estimate of the upper limit of expected travel
